The archive and documentation centre basis wien provides the interested public with online access to information via a free online database on contemporary art in and from Austria within an international context. Data collection and processing are carried out for archiving purposes, for academic/historical research purposes, and for possible statistical purposes. Data are used that are (a) publicly accessible and/or (b) submitted and disclosed by the data subjects.
a) Published print materials and digital communications (invitation cards/programmes/posters, newsletters, press information), press articles. Data relating to exhibitions and other events, names of participating persons and institutions, titles, etc., are processed by basis wien.
b) First and last name, address(es), telephone and fax number(s), email address(es), date of birth, salutation, title, education, professional activities, participation in exhibitions and other events/projects, mentions in publications, membership of associations and organisations, as well as artist groups.
Hosting is provided by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The domain www.basis-wien.at is registered with Hutchison Drei Austria GmbH, Brünner Straße 52, 1210 Vienna.
