MARIA COZMA & NIK GEENE
what do people do all day?
Building on the work tit tat, presented at basis wien during last year’s International Archives Day, Nik Geene and Maria Cozma have developed a new concept specifically for this year’s International Archives Week, inspired by the question: What Do People Do All Day?
A new series of handmade slides has been created in close dialogue with basis wien.
The basis wien team — Helene, Verena, Andrea, and Christian — are accompanied throughout their daily working routines, resulting in four day-long documentations. The images focus on hands: hands that point, sort, file, and organise. Two cameras accompany them — left and right. Two hands become four, become sixteen hands; from this emerge four projections, each consisting of 80 slides.
